Google Pixel 8 series is getting this Samsung Galaxy S24 feature

Google announced its Circle to Search feature alongside the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series. The new tool, which is an extension of Google search, makes it easier for users to pinpoint a term and look up their queries more efficiently. However, Google, in a statement, also mentioned how this feature will not be limited to Samsung smartphones and will also be seen across other brands within this price range. In a more recent announcement, it rolled out the feature globally to Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro users. Here’s everything you need to know about the report:

How to use the Circle to Search feature on your Google Pixel 8 series

While the feature was originally supposed to be a part of an update, several users have pointed out how it has been made available remotely without having to install a software update. While Pixel users can still choose Google Lens over Circle to Search via Google Assistant or Search, the latter can be used over any app that is open and running.

To activate this feature on your Pixel phone, long-press the navigation bar at the bottom of your screen. This will make your phone stop and allow you to scribble over the app’s interface. You can either highlight text or circle around a product you want to look up, and the results will be displayed in the form of a pop-up.

What does the Circle to Search feature do?

The feature, which was first observed on the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, uses your finger as a stylus and allows you to circle any object on your screen to perform a search. This could include an image, text, icon or even a video, and Google will fetch results in the form of a small message box on your phone. While the brand is yet to announce which other smartphones will make the cut for this feature, it does look like it is gradually rolling out for flagship Android phones. However, it will only be exclusive to Android, and iOS users may not be able to enjoy this on other devices.
