Every Google account comes with 15GB of free cloud storage across Google Drive, Google Photos, and Gmail. However, this may not necessarily be enough. Well, then there’s Google One for you. Depending on your plan, Google One gives you access to storage space ranging between 100GB and 5TB, and access to a Gemini Advanced integration across the entire suite of Google apps, amongst other features.
However, these plans can set you back anywhere between Rs 130 a month to Rs 1,625 a month. Well, if you don’t need quite so much storage space, or maybe don’t want to spend quite so much, Google has just begun to roll out a Google One ‘Lite’ plan in India. Here’s all you need to know.
Google One Lite: What you need to know
Many users have begun to spot a new Google One ‘Lite’ plan on their devices, which doubles their existing free 15GB of storage to 30GB. The plan is priced at Rs 59 per month in India, making it its cheapest paid subscription tier. To save a little money, you can also buy the same subscription on an annual basis, for just Rs 589.

Now, bear in mind that this tier lacks the features of other paid tiers of Google One, including the ability to share your storage with your family members, Gemini Advanced access, and more.
This should be more than enough to store your important documents, pictures and videos, and WhatsApp chats, especially considering how the latter now counts against your Google Drive storage quota. And despite the lack of other features, one shouldn’t over look the seamless manner in which they can access their files across devices including their smartphones, laptops, desktops and tablets.
The plan is currently available only to some users and is being rolled out gradually in a phased manner. Moreover, it is also not clear whether Google plans to roll out this tier in other markets out of India.
