Google I/O 2024: Where to watch the keynote live, and what to expect

A lot of eyes are on Google with the company hosting its annual developer’s conference tonight in California, USA. And, just like last year, it is scheduled to be held only for a limited audience at the Shoreline Amphitheatre.

However, avid fans and enthusiasts can certainly gear up for lots of announcements around Android, Wear OS and Android TV. If you don’t know where to catch Google I/O 2024 live tonight, we have it covered for you. Here’s how you can livestream the event.

Google I/O is scheduled to kick off with a keynote address by CEO Sundar Pichai at 10:00 AM PT (10:30 PM IST). The event will most likely move on the announcements shortly after. Whether you’re watching it at home or in transit, you will be able to stream it live on Google’s official YouTube channel. Alternatively, the brand will also host it on its official website: I/O 2024.

Google I/O 2024: What to expect

The rising interest in generative AI in the past year has certainly put the spotlight on Google Gemini, and this time around, we might see a lot more of artificial intelligence in tonight’s announcement.

Google also seems to be steering towards transforming its virtual assistant experience into an advanced, Gemini-powered chatbot. Several also believe that it will play a key role in changing the smart home experience for users altogether. Apart from this, the event may highlight a broader AI integration across Google devices.

Google I/O 2024 will also feature a deep dive into the brand’s latest iteration of the operating system – Android 15. The event has always been a platform to showcase user-friendly, innovative features and it will likely provide more clarity into what is new with the latest release.

Early beta insights have revealed various features, including partial screen sharing, extended health tracking capabilities and an improved Find My Device

Lastly, despite Pixel 8a’s early release, rumours suggest that there may be a few more hardware announcements lined up. Speculations also point towards the possibility of an upcoming Pixel Fold; however, tipsters have also indicated that it may not launch until later this year.
