Google Gemini for iPhone launched: How to get the app

There’s good news for iPhone users who aren’t eligible for Apple Intelligence. You can now download and use the Google AI chatbot Gemini on your iPhones. Moreover, the app is available for free.

The Gemini AI app will provide iPhone users with direct access to the chatbot through text, voice, or camera input, and the best part is that it doesn’t require users to install the main Google app either. Here’s everything you need to kno0w about the app and how you can get it running on your iPhone.

How can Gemini AI app help iPhone users?

According to Google, iPhone users can talk to Gemini in a conversational manner using Gemini Live. The app will also include interrupt to ask questions or change the topic features. Moreover, they can personalise the voice of Gemini AI by choosing from 10 distinct AI voices and chat in languages like English, Spanish, French, German, or Hindi.

The Gemini AI app will include access to Imagen 3, Google’s image generation model, allowing the app to covert text ideas to images, just like on its Android phone counterpart.

Google claims that Gemini will make learning easier for students. For instance, they can ask questions about any subject and Gemini will provide tailored study plans to help them. It can generate custom plans to adapt to the user’s learning style. If needed, it can even test their knowledge with quizzes.

There will be some checks on Gemini AI’s abilities on iOS. Unlike Siri, it cannot tweak settings or manage other apps. The functionality of Gemini AI will be limited to interactions within Google’s ecosystem, including apps and services. The Google extensions allow Gemini AI to find and show relevant information like YouTube, Google Maps, Gmail, Calendar and more.

How to get the Gemini AI app on iPhone?

Google CEO Sundar Pichai has confirmed the app’s availability on the Apple App Store. The app is free to download for iPhone users. The Gemini AI app is available in 13 languages worldwide. It will be followed by more languages soon. Since it will be a gradual roll out, users are expected to receive it on their respective iPhones in the coming weeks.

However, some of you may already eligible for the download. Simply open the App Store and type in “Gemini” in the search bar. If Gemini is available to you, you should see the official app right away. If not, you can try again after a few days.
