Sony’s next PC port is one that fans have been waiting for a long time

God of War Ragnarök is coming to PC in September

During its State of Play event last night, Sony announced a number of new games coming to the PlayStation 5. Among these announcements was God of Ragnarök, a game that has already been around for the PS5. The title is now finally coming to PC, and will finally allow PC gamers to enjoy the title on gaming laptops and desktops.

Santa Monica Studios’ God of War (2018) was a popular game on launch, being the first next-gen title in the God of War series. Naturally, when the title came to PC two years later in early 2022, it was an instant hit among fans. However, when its sequel God of War Ragnarök came out in the same year, fans knew a PC port was going to take a while. That waiting period is about to now end soon.

God of War Ragnarök will come to PCs on September 19 this year, with Santa Monica Studios pairing up again with Jetpack Interactive to help deliver the PC version. Of course, with the title coming to PC, we will see some new exclusive features that were not a part of the PS5 version. These include:

4K resolution and unlocked framerates

PC gamers will be able to make the most of their gaming hardware by maxing out the framerates in the game, allowing them to experience the wrath of Kratos in all its smooth glory. The game will also be available in true 4K resolution for those with a graphics card powerful enough for the same.

Ultrawide resolution support

God of War Ragnarök will also support ultrawide resolutions with aspect ratios of up to 21:9 and 32:9. This will allow you to capture the beauty of the nine realms at a much wider perspective when you have a monitor like the Samsung Odyssey G9.

DLSS upscaling

God of War Ragnarök will also feature full integration with upscaling tech like NVIDIA DLSS, AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), and Intel XeSS (XE Super Sampling). This will allow gamers with lower-end hardware to play at higher resolutions and framerates.

The game will also include the Valhalla DLC and a New Game+ mode. A pre-purchase option for the game will be available on both Steam and Epic Games and those who make a purchase before the launch date on September 19 will get access to some cool unique cosmetic upgrades for both Kratos and Atreus.
