If you happen to have been following The Game Awards 2023, you’d know that several games including Alan Wake 2, Baldur’s Gate 3, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Resident Evil 4 were amongst the top games this year, whether in terms of storyline, soundtrack, art direction, performance, and more.
However, fans were in for more than just mere awards. You see, at the awards, Sony Santa Monica announced that their title God of War Ragnarök, which won the award for game of the year as long as 2018, is getting a free DLC, which serves as a surprise epilogue for the game. The DLC is called Valhalla. Here’s everything you need to know.
All you need to know about the God of War Valhalla DLC
The Valhalla DLC for God of War Ragnarök, will see Kratos and Mimir awaken outside the gates of Valhalla, taking on the dangers that lie within. With each repeated attempt at a failed task, Sony says, Kratos’ character will learn to adapt to the challenges of Valhalla and tackle them better. Moreover, with each stage, players will get more resources that help Kratos with permanent upgrades.
Kratos, as per Sony, will have access to all his weapons and fully upgraded skill trees at all stages of gameplay in the DLC. However, the DLC itself will be structured in a manner wherein players will also have to make choices between glyphs for which stats to upgrade and the perks to take advantage of, the attacks to wield, and more. Each attempt, as per Sony, will play out differently based upon the choices one makes.
The Valhalla DLC is being said to blend the combat styles of newer God of War titles, with rogue-like elements, with the trailer showing Kratos combating a variety of enemies, falling and attempting to overcome them several times.
