We have all been in situations where we looked for an old email in our Gmail inbox, but finding it wasn’t easy. We had to scroll all the way towards the bottom to find it. This can be annoying, but thankfully, Google is fixing it by adding a new AI-powered search feature in Gmail called ‘Most relevant’.
As of now, Gmail, by default, displays the most recent emails when searching for a specific email from the search bar. However, by using the new AI-powered search feature, you are expected to get just the right email you want.
Google confirmed that this AI-powered feature in Gmail factors in additional elements such as the most-clicked emails, frequent contacts, and recency to show the most relevant email when searched. This will eliminate the need to scroll all the way to the bottom to find specific emails.
For this feature to work, you will have to change the search status from ‘Most recent’ to ‘Most relevant’. Here’s how you can filter emails to see the most relevant ones.
Here’s how you can find emails faster on Gmail
Step 1: Open Gmail on your iPhone or Android device.
Step 2: Tap on the search bar and search for an older email by adding the relevant keyword.
Step 3: Now, you should see a drop-down next to ‘Most recent’. Tap on the drop-down and select ‘Most relevant’.
Step 4: Once done, you should be able to find the right email faster.
As mentioned above, the feature factors in additional elements to display the most relevant email, ensuring you don’t get lost in between numerous emails with the same subject.

Google confirmed that it’s already rolling out the feature to personal accounts, which means you should see it on your device anytime from now.
