What to expect from the Flappy Bird revival

Flappy Bird is a relatively simple side-scrolling mobile game where a tiny bird is navigating its way through a bunch of pipes. It first released in 2013, and almost immediately became a viral hit. It even went on to become the most-downloaded app on both iOS and Android app stores.

Just short of being synonymous with pulling your hair out, the game was also known to be one of the most frustrating titles out there. At its peak the developer took the game down, much to the disappointment of many. Now, the game is set to come back, which surprisingly, has a lot of the internet excited.

The Flappy Bird Foundation, a passionate group of fans of the iconic mobile game, claim to have acquired the rights to the popular game. The team say that they are committed to sharing the game with the world.

More than a decade after Flappy Bird was taken offline, the organisation announced its plans to relaunch the game for Android and iOS in 2025. Here’s everything you need to know about this Flappy Bird revival.

Flappy Bird: Revival

Regarding the revival, Nguyen, posted a comment on X (formerly Twitter) stating that he is not involved with the revival and has not sold anything. He further mentioned that he doesn’t support crypto.

During the announcement of the game, The Flappy Bird Foundation shared that they had acquired the rights from Gametech Holdings, LLC, which had secured the trademark from the creator of the game. They have clarified that the new version will feature the original Flappy Bird character but will introduce new game modes, characters and multiplayer challenges.
