CES 2024 has brought incredible tech and innovation to the table, and it’s no different in the world of laptops. This year, we’ve seen everything from unconventional designs to innovative features. So, whether you’re a gamer or a working professional, here’s a list of the coolest laptops unveiled at CES 2024 so far.
Asus Zenbook Duo
While the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i was the first dual-screen laptop to exist, Asus still managed to hog the spotlight by announcing its Zenbook Duo. It provides two OLED touchscreens that can be propped in both horizontal and vertical orientations. However, it has incorporated a few significant changes to the laptop’s trackpad and keyboard.
Unlike the Yoga Book, the Asus Zenbook Duo has a much larger keypad and comes with the addition of a physical touchpad. Apart from this, it ranks slightly better with functionality owing to the fact that it can be used completely in clamshell mode by covering the bottom screen. And if that’s not all, both the keyboard and the touchpad can be used wirelessly.
Lenovo Thinkbook Plus Gen 5 Hybrid
CES is known for paving the way for more experimental designs, and Lenovo did just that with its 2-in-1 design for the Thinkbook Plus Gen 5 laptop. While on the surface, it may appear like any other traditional laptop, the Thinkbook Plus is, in fact, a hybrid model that can be used as a fully functional tablet and a separate wireless keyboard when needed. Its 15-inch screen is comfortable to operate and even comes with its own RAM, battery life, camera and drive access.
HP Omen Transcend 14
HP may have stayed lowkey this time, but it certainly packed a punch with the lightest 14-inch gaming laptop in the world. While thin and light gaming laptops aren’t new today, the laptop weighs an astonishing 1.6kgs without compromising on the features it promises.
With its Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor and up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 graphics, the HP Omen Transcend 14 has specifications that are impressive for its build. What’s more? It throws in the RGB keyboard and is quite the looker for its size!
Acer Aspire Vero 16
If sustainability impresses you, the Acer Aspire Vero 16 is one for your wishlist. The laptop is an addition to the brand’s existing lineup of Vero laptops that are built using post-consumer resin (PCR) recycled plastics.
However, with Aspire Vero 16, Acer takes the percentage of PCR up a notch to 60 per cent. While the specifications of the laptops are quite modest (with its Intel i7 processors, 16GB RAM and up to 2TB SSD storage), you can be rest assured that the price tag for this range will also remain in check. Acer mentions that the laptop will begin from $749.99 (roughly Rs 62,300) and will be ready to ship by April 2024.
LG Gram Pro
LG announced its range of Gram laptops back in December, but they were officially showcased for the first time at CES 2024. The LG Gram Pro and LG Gram Pro 2-in-1 laptops (with 16 and 17-inch displays) now offer upgraded panel options and are equipped with an Intel Core Ultra processor under the hood. The super thin-and-light laptops are only 0.57-inch in thickness, and the former weighs only about 1.3kgs. This also makes them the most portable laptop to be introduced with the RTX graphics card.
Lenovo Thinkbook 13x (Gen 4)
Lenovo also flaunted its Thinkbook 13x Gen 4, which comes with an e-ink prism screen at the back of the display. It covers the laptop back panel entirely, and Lenovo claims that the innovation was put in place to “bridge the gap between traditional static materials and digital technology”.
It also goes on to mention that the laptop can support up to 1,000 different images, without compromising on the sharpness or clarity of the output. But if there’s something even more impressive than the e-ink prism screen, it is that the addition does not impact the battery life of this laptop. Users can effortlessly make the most of 21 hours of video playback and 11.4 hours of web browsing.
While we still have a day more of the tech expo in place, these are definitely some of the most noteworthy additions made to the laptops segment this year. Keep your eyes glued to the space for any other exciting announcements from CES this year.
