Every flagship Samsung Galaxy smartphone released to date

Samsung is among the global market leaders when it comes to smartphones, and a lot of its success is driven by the Galaxy range of flagship smartphones. First launched in 2010 with the original Samsung Galaxy S smartphone, the product range has since grown to include the once popular Note series, as well as the modern foldable smartphones in the Z Flip and Z Fold ranges. The Samsung Galaxy flagship range continues to be one of the most popular for premium smartphone buyers in India and globally.

We’ve put together a list of all the popular Samsung Galaxy flagship smartphones, covering the S, Note, and Z product lineups. Notably, while the Samsung Galaxy S series has continued from 2010 till now, the Galaxy Note series was discontinued after the 2020 release and was replaced by the Galaxy Z series of foldable devices from 2021 onwards. Since then, the product lineup has split into the S and Z series, where each has its own distinct form factor and specialisation based on the features.

The larger-screen and stylus enabled Note series smartphones has been replaced by the Ultra variants of the S series as well, which feature large screens and the S-Pen stylus for creativity and writing-based functionality. Since 2015, the Galaxy S series has featured multiple variants based on size and certain features, with the Ultra devices usually the best equipped in the range.

Samsung has switched naming conventions for its flagship smartphones on occasion as well. The Galaxy S10 was followed by the Galaxy S20 series in 2020 to align the product name with the year of release. Earlier, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 was followed by the Note 7 in 2016, to align the series numbering with the Samsung Galaxy S7, released in the same year. Similarly, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 is the successor to the Galaxy Z Flip, in order to align the series numbering with that of the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

Since 2019, Samsung has also had the Galaxy Z series of foldable smartphones, which include the Z Flip and Z Fold series. The Z Flip smartphones feature a clamshell-style form factor where the device is compact when folded closed, while the Z Fold series has a regular-sized outer screen and much larger inside folding screen for a tablet-like experience. Here is the full list of Samsung Galaxy S, Galaxy Note, and Galaxy Z smartphones from 2010 till 2024.
