Four years ago, French manufacturer Avenir Telecom announced a phone with a whopping 18,000mAh battery. In essence, it was a battery pack powerful and big enough to have crammed an entire smartphone in it.
Now, the same company has done it again. This time, though, the battery has become larger with a 28,000mAh capacity. The device, called the Hard Case P28K, was revealed at MWC 2024.
Energizer Hard Case P28K: Features and key specifications
The Energizer Hard Case P28K’s battery is said to last for up to a whole week. The battery is rated at up to 122 hours of talk time, while on standby, it is rated for up to a whopping 2,252 hours. That is a little over three entire months!
The battery also supports 33W fast charging. However, just how long it actually takes to charge the 28,000mAh battery from zero to 100 per cent, remains unknown.

As you may imagine, the Energizer Hard Case P28K isn’t exactly what you’d call sleek by any measure. The device is as much as 27.8mm thick and weighs as much as 570 grams. To put things into perspective, an iPhone 15 Pro Max is about 8.25mm thick and weighs 221 grams.
The phone isn’t exactly fit for your pockets then. However, it does come with an IP69 rating. This means it can resist any of the elements you may encounter the next time you go exploring those places off the grid.
The Hard Case P28K for the most part, is like any other budget smartphone. It comes powered by an entry-level MediaTek MT6789 processor, which, unfortunately, means that it doesn’t support 5G connectivity.

On the device is 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage, a triple rear-camera setup, and a 6.78-inch 1080p LCD display. The device will come running on Android 14 straight out of the box.
Energizer Hard Case P28K: Pricing and availability
The Avenir Telecom Energizer Hard Case P28K will retail for €249.99 (approximately Rs 22,450) and will be available to purchase globally starting in October this year.
Now, whether the device will make its way to certain markets including India, isn’t known yet. Moreover, it has also been confirmed that the device will not be available to purchase in the US.
