Elden Ring cheat codes give you unlimited runes: Here’s how to install them

When it comes to Souls-like games, Elden Ring is one of the top games. With an overall player base touching a million, the fantasy title has managed to keep gamers engaged with fighting the top bosses with a fierce playstyle – something that’s required for such a souls-like title.

However, fighting bosses like Maliketh, Malenia, and Mohg, isn’t easy and not everyone’s cup of tea. The game’s Shadow of the Erdtree  expansion can be even more difficult for some players. As much as you like playing the game, you could be struggling to complete a mission, and let’s be honest, many of us are.

This is where cheat codes come in to the picture (or in the game). Elden Ring cheat codes are intended to make things smooth for you, allowing you to easily complete the game. But there’s a caveat before you go down the route of using cheat codes on the Elden Ring PC version.

The caveat is that you need to stick to offline play for obvious reasons. And when going back online, you need to quarantine the cheats to safeguard your account. With all that in mind, let’s see how you can install cheat codes in Elden Ring.

Elden Ring Cheat Codes Guide

It’s worth noting that there are no official cheat codes for the Elden Ring game, hence, you will have to rely on third-party cheat codes made on Cheat Engine utility.

So, to get started, you will have to download the Cheat Engine application from its official website. You will also have to download The Grand Archives’ Elden Ring cheat table from GitHub.

While downloading and installing Cheat Engine, be cautious as it may ask you to download unwanted adware. That said, only install the right software after through checking.

Once you have the Cheat Engine software and the cheat table downloaded, you will have to disable EasyAntiCheat. Follow the steps below to disable EasyAntiCheat via Steam.

Step 1: Open Steam and head to your library.

Step 2: Go to streamapps > ELDEN RING > game.

Step 3: Rename start_protected_game.exe to something else (for eg: start_protected_game_original.exe).

Step 4: Make a copy of elden_ring.exe and rename it to start_protected_game.exe.

Step 5: Once done, run the game through Steam as normal.

Those who did not purchase the game on Steam or want an easier way to disable EasyAntiCheat can use this Nexus mod, as it gives you an on and off toggle.

Once you disable Easy Anti Cheat, you need to add the cheat table to the Elden Ring folder. To do that follow the below steps.

Step 1: Unpack steam_appid.txt from the cheat table file.

Step 2: Add the .txt file to your Elden Ring folder in the Steam/steamapps/common directory.

Step 3: Now, instead of opening the game directly from Steam, open it by running eldenring.exe. For those using Steam Deck or Linux, you need to add eldenring.exe as a non-steam to access it and open it.

Step 4: Once you open the game, launch Cheat Engine and load The Grand Archives’. CT file from the location your selected.

Step 5: Lastly, activate the cheat table by tapping Open.

Once the cheat table is activated, you will be able to get unlimited runes. You will also be able to skip challenging areas in the game and pick the choice of your weapons early. However, remember that you need to stick to offline play when the cheat table is activated. If you switch to online mode, you may get banned if the game recognises the cheat table.

That’s just how you use cheat codes in Elden Ring. However, if you plan to disable the cheat codes, all you need to do is just undo all the things that you did to install them in the game. As mentioned above, Elden Ring cheats codes are only available for the PC version, console players, like the PlayStation 5 users, can’t use cheats just yet. Hence, you won’t find Elden Ring PS5 cheat codes anywhere on the internet.
