Echo Spot makes a comeback with revamped design, improved display

Right in time for Prime Day 2024, the Echo Spot smart alarm clock has made a comeback with upgraded features and a brand-new design. The smart clock sports a compact build that can easily be propped onto a nightstand or desk and it even comes with a touchscreen and voice command support. Echo Spot 2024: What's new?

The customisable smart alarm clock comes with a 2.83-inch semi-circular display. It occupies the top half of the device and the other half gets speaker mesh for audio. The screen displays the time and date at a glance, but users have the option to modify the clock faces based on their preferences. This time around, the Echo Spot also comes equipped with special visuals for functions such as alarms, music playback and weather forecast.

The 1.73-inch mesh grille conceals the front-firing speaker which appears to be similar to that of the Echo Dot with a clock and the 5th gen Echo Dot. It gets a built-in microphone for users to interact with Alexa, and the alarm clock also has a microphone mute button between the volume controls placed on top of the device. Like the Echo Dot, the Echo Spot can also carry out routine smart home tasks and offer seamless integration with a smart doorbell, display or speakers in the house.

The Echo Spot doesn’t spot a camera, addressing privacy concerns that were observed with its predecessor, and also allows users to delete voice recordings via their Alexa smartphone app. Apart from this, the smart alarm clock also has a motion sensor that can be used to dismiss alarms or notifications.

Echo Spot 2024: Price and availability

The Echo Spot 2024 is priced at $79.99 (roughly Rs 6,678) and it also comes at a limited-time Prime Day discount of $44.99 (roughly Rs 3,756). Users can choose between six colours, including orange, violet, magenta, lime, teal, and blue. The smart clock will be available on the official website and can also be purchased via key e-commerce portals.
