Dyson WashG1 launched in India; can separate wet and dry waste on its own

Since the Dyson WashG1 was announced, people have been eagerly waiting to see if the new technology can ease the home cleaning process. Now, it’s time to experience this yourself, as the cord-free wet floor cleaner has launched in India.

Dyson’s new multitasker can clean both wet and dry debris simultaneously, providing a clean surface in a single sweep. Here’s everything you need to know about the new Dyson WashG1.

Dyson WashG1 key features

The WashG1 comes equipped with a 1-litre clean water tank. It employs a combination of hydration, absorption, and extraction technologies to ensure a thorough removal of debris. It is said to cover an area of up to 3,100 square feet on a single charge and the battery provides up to 35 minutes of runtime.

Featuring highly absorbent, counter-rotating rollers, the WashG1 utilises a pulse-modulated pump to distribute water evenly across 26 hydration points. The microfiber rollers consist of 64,800 filaments per cm2 which can absorb liquid spills while capturing dirt, debris, and hair. It is also equipped with customised hydration control that allows users to adjust levels based on the type of debris and flooring.

To separate debris and dirty water, the WashG1 uses advanced separation technology. The durable plates extract dirty water from the rollers while nylon-bristled brush bars flick dirt into a removable debris tray. It further uses a 500-micron mesh to filter out large debris. This waste is stored in a 0.8-litre tank for hygienic disposal.

Coming to maintenance, the WashG1 is designed without sharp internal edges, reducing the chance of grime buildup. The large water tank openings facilitate easy cleaning. The cleaner also has a self-cleaning mode that saturates the rollers with clean water after use and prepares the machine for its next operation.

There are various modes available in the device with additional sensitivity settings. Based on the requirement, it can be adjusted from low, medium, high, and boost modes that can range from facilitating normal cleaning to tackling stubborn stains. The full-width rollers enable effective edge-to-edge cleaning with two motors spinning in opposite directions that allow the machine to glide smoothly during use.
