One of the most awaited TV series of 2024, Dune: Prophecy, has got another trailer. This time it has a release date attached to it. This sci-fi television show will serve as a prequel to the incredibly popular film franchise by Denis Villeneuve’s Dune.
From the expansive universe of Dune, created by acclaimed author Frank Herbert, comes a spinoff TV series. The events will take place sometime 10,000 years before the first Dune movie.

This series will also give an origin outline to the sect known as the Bene Gesserit. The trailers and teasers suggest there will be some highly political scheming involved.
The series will revolve around Tula and Valya Harkonnen as they struggle to establish the most influential sisterhood group. It will also focus on training harder and preparing themselves to fight every force that wants to push humanity into darkness.

Based on the book, Sisterhood of Dune, the trailer provides a glimpse into an intriguing storyline, and also introduces some pivotal characters including Valya Harkonen portrayed by Emily Watson, Tula Harkonnen played by Olivia Williams, Sister Francesca featuring Tabu, and more.
Dune: Prophecy was initially named Dune: Sisterhood hinting towards the book it is based on. The upcoming series will show us the rise of House Harkonnen and the sisterhood to the level of power we have seen in the Dune movies.
Dune: Prophecy OTT release date in India
The highly anticipated web series will have six episodes with one episode dropping each week starting from November 17. The last episode will be aired on December 22, 2024. The show will air on HBO and Max, and fans in India will be able to watch it on JioCinema. They will however require a premium subscription.
While the Dune movies have performed really well at the box office, it raises expectations from fans when a spinoff series is announced. But can the TV show deliver what the fans expect? Well, we will only know when the show is released.
