Dell’s Alienware segment is synonymous with powerful gaming laptops and desktops. The Alienware m18 R1 from 2023 was one of the most powerful of these – being an all-out 18-inch no-compromise gaming laptop. Now, the machine has a 2024 refresh in the form of the new Alienware m18 R2, which you may remember from CES 2024.

Dell Alienware m18 R2: What’s new?
The Alienware m18 R2 comes with an 18-inch display which comes in two variants – FHD resolution with 480Hz refresh rate, or QHD (2K) resolution with 120Hz refresh rate. Depending on what kind of gaming you’re into ranging from casual to competitive, you can choose between these.
The Alienware m18 R2 is also powered by Intel 14th Gen processors, including the Intel Core i7 and i9, both of which are very powerful processors for not just gaming, but also other heavy workloads. This is also coupled with up to 64GB RAM and up to 4TB SSD storage.
The m18 R2 is also available in multiple GPU combinations, including the Nvidia RTX 4060 8GB GPU and the Nvidia RTX 4090 16GB GPU.
Other features of the laptop include per-key RGB lighting, a built-in low-profile mechanical keyboard instead of a membrane keyboard, and features like N-key roll-over and 1.8mm travel.
Pricing and availability
The Alienware m18 R2 starts at Rs 2,96,490 for the base variant. Higher variants with more resolution, memory, storage or a more powerful GPU will set you back more. The gaming laptop will be available to purchase from the Dell website as well as other major retailers.
