Humanity has struggled with laundry long before washing machines were introduced in the early 1900s. But it wasn’t long after that technology stepped in, made it simpler to tackle a larger load, and ensured hygiene while we were at it. We gradually moved from scrub boards and hand-operated machines to semi-automatic and automatic washers.
Washing machines today come equipped with built-in dryers and heaters that reduce the need for having a separate appliance. And despite their multi-functional usage, washing machines are now designed to blend into your modern-day kitchen and home with little to no trouble.
Who should invest in a washing machine?
Washing machines are a staple in any household, regardless of the family size. They come with multiple features you can choose based on your day-to-day usage. Semi-automatic washing machines are ideal if you struggle with consistent water or power supply.
Alternatively, a front-load washing machine is an excellent appliance as it is power-efficient and generally utilises less water. A top-load or fully-automatic washer can take on a larger load and is easier to repair. Choosing the best one often boils down to your preferences and the size of your family.

You may even invest in washers with built-in dryers and heaters to reduce manual labour. If you have to deal with a tropical climate, having a built-in heater and dryer ensures all-around hygiene when tackling stubborn stains. Whether you’re in the market for a new one or are simply looking for an upgrade, Whirlpool, Bosch, and Samsung, have their line of washing machines you can consider for yourself.
Croma launches 8kg washing machine with built-in heater
Croma recently launched a washing machine with 8kg capacity, and a built-in heater that makes it an excellent appliance if sanitation tops your list of priorities. It offers up to 10 fabric care programs that are easy to pick based on your requirements, including Favourite, Eco Clean, Express Wash, Bedsheet, Anti-Bacterial, and Aqua Recycle.
Its built-in heater preheats water from 30 to 60 degrees Celsius to carefully wash your fabrics without damaging them. This function is ideal if you struggle with pesky or oil-based stains. It is also simple to operate with its one-touch function, which automatically sets the water level along with an optimal washing procedure for your clothes.
At Rs 30,000, it makes an efficient mid-range option alongside other names, including LG’s 7KG inverter washing machine and IFB’s 6.5 kg 5 Star Fully Automatic front-load washing machine.
