Cricket World Cup final 2023: How to check the score with Samsung Bixby

The Cricket World Cup 2023 is nearing its end with the final match scheduled for this Sunday. Unless you have other plans this weekend, you’ll likely be watching the final between India and Australia. However, depending on how preoccupied you are, you may not be free all day to check out the entire match. Fortunately, if you use Samsung smartphones, you have a neat trick you can use to quickly get a gist of the match in seconds.

Samsung has announced new cricket-specific features for its Bixby voice assistant, which can be accessed via most newer Samsung Galaxy smartphones. This includes affordable phones like the Samsung Galaxy A14 5G as well as flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. Here’s how you can use the new features.

Cricket World Cup 2023: Use Samsung Bixby to check the score

Once Samsung Bixby is set as your default voice assistant app, you can use it to ask the score by simply saying “Hi Bixby”, followed by “What’s the score?”. The voice assistant will automatically figure out what match is currently going on and deliver you updates from the same.

You can also ask Bixby for more in-depth information about the World Cup. Say phrases like “show me upcoming matches” to get a glimpse of what matches are taking place over the next few days or say “show the world cup points table” to glance at the standings of each team.

All of these Bixby cricket features will be available to all Samsung phones with Bixby support, without needing to download any additional app or signing up to any additional service.

You can use Samsung Bixby by pressing the dedicated Bixby button, which is present on some Samsung smartphones. If your phone doesn’t have one of those, you can still trigger Bixby by holding down the power button. Note that this will only work if you have the setting to open Bixby by long-pressing the power button enabled. Of course, if you don’t want to involve any buttons, you can set Bixby up to respond to voice commands, and then simply say ‘Hi Bixby’ to get started.
