While Google’s Pixel phones are known for their elegant design, cutting-edge features, and top-notch performance, even the best devices can encounter problems. 7 most common Google Pixel issues and how to fix them

While Google Pixel devices provide the best Android experience, they’re not without their quirks. There may be times when you face screen glitches, connectivity or Wi-Fi issues, SIM card problems, or Wi-Fi calling not working. Here are seven of the most common Google Pixel issues along with easy steps to fix these problems and get your phone back in top shape.

1. Display issues

One of the most common issues with Google Pixel is screen problems. If you see signs of flickering, discolouration, lines or poor resolution, then chances are your display might be facing some sort of issue.

To fix it, you can either try installing the latest software update or restarting your device. If the problem persists, it’s best to either repair or replace the damaged screen.

2. Connectivity issues

When it comes to Google Pixel connectivity issues, there are a few common problems you might encounter. Wi-Fi connections can become weak or unreliable, or your Pixel phone may not connect to the internet altogether.

To fix such issues, either try toggling Wi-Fi off and then back on again or restart your Google Pixel phone by holding the power button. You can also try resetting your network settings and if all else fails, contact your service provider or take your Pixel phone to a qualified technician for repairs.

3. Wi-Fi connection and Wi-Fi calling issues

Another common issue most Google Pixel devices face is Wi-Fi connectivity. To troubleshoot the issue, try to restart your device and router and also check for any firmware updates and install them, if available. You can also reset your Wi-Fi network and try to reconnect or check for any signal obstructions and move your router closer to your Pixel.

Also, make sure to go through the network settings of your Pixel and adjust them as required. If your Wi-Fi Calling isn’t working on your Pixel, you can try resetting the network settings. Make sure the Wi-Fi Calling toggle is on and also check your network connectivity and restart your Google Pixel smartphone.

4. SIM card issues

You may also come across issues with your Pixel’s SIM card which can leave you without a network connection. Here’s how to troubleshoot this common problem:

1. Check if your SIM card is correctly inserted and that your phone is compatible with your carrier. If not, you may need to switch to a compatible carrier.

2. If the problem persists, check if Wi-Fi Calling is enabled on your Pixel, as this may be causing conflicts.

3. In case of any hardware issue, try resetting the device or contact Google’s services. Be sure to check the SIM card before attempting any other fixes.

5. Fingerprint sensor issues

There can also be instances when your fingerprint sensor fails to recognise your fingerprint or incorrectly reads it, thus preventing you from unlocking your Pixel.

To fix fingerprint sensor issues, make sure to clean the sensor with a soft cloth. Also, recalibrate the sensor and reboot your device. You can also try pressing and holding the power button and volume down button simultaneously until the device vibrates; Google recommends doing this for 10-20 seconds. If your fingerprint sensor is slow or unresponsive, try recalibrating it by tapping it five times in quick succession. To troubleshoot further, restart your Google Pixel in Safe Mode and see if the issue persists. If it does, it might be a software issue, so try a factory reset. If it’s a hardware issue, it may require repair.

6. Charging issues

Charging issues are another common problem with Google Pixel phones. Some potential causes include hardware-related issues like faulty cables, chargers or ports, and battery damage.

To fix this, you can either drain the battery completely and let it charge back up to about 90 per cent or try updating the system software. If the issue persists, contact Google Support.

7. Camera app glitches

Camera app problems are common with Google Pixel devices. If your camera app keeps crashing, start by clearing the app cache and if there are any updates available for the camera app, make sure to install them. Then, restart your device and boot into Safe Mode. Once in Safe Mode, clear your device’s cache partition, and if needed, perform a factory reset. Blurry photos can also be caused by hardware malfunctions or software glitches.

To fix such issues check for camera app or device updates and make sure you have a sufficient amount of storage available. If the problem persists, contact customer support.

Although unlikely, these are a few issues which may pop up on your Pixel device at times. Luckily though, you always have these quick and easy fixes to ensure an uninterrupted and hassle-free user experience with your Google Pixel smartphone. We hope this helps!
