Bluetooth speakers finally set audio free of wires for music lovers. Your favourite tunes could now be carried anywhere at any time, without the hassle of earphones or headphones, and with the perk of listening with all your buddies at once. However, with speakers now being more portable than ever, they also became more prone to getting dirtier than ever before.
Do you have a dirty Bluetooth speaker after your last camping trip? Here’s how to get it cleaned up with minimal effort, and more importantly, without damaging your speakers.
How to clean your Bluetooth speakers
What you’ll need: A pair of microfibre cloth sheets, one for dry use and one for wet, a can of compressed air (optional), and some water. You can also use a soft toothbrush, cotton swabs and rubbing alcohol if necessary.

Before you start wiping your Bluetooth speakers, it’s a good idea to get a sense of the kind of cleaning required. If your you have a layer of mud, grease or food particles over your speakers, you may first want to find out if they’re water resistant. If they are, you can run your speakers under a tap to get rid of the bulk of the gunk first. If not, you may want to take the product straight to the service centre.
For persistent gunk, use a spare soft toothbrush to manually clean the dirt. For finer areas, you can use a cotton swab dipped in some rubbing alcohol. Clean the area with a swab in small circular motions until the stains are gone.
Once this is done, allow your product to dry out and then use the can of compressed air to push out any dust or dirt in the mesh and other crevices of the speakers. Take your time doing this all around the speakers and repeat if necessary.

Next, take your first microfibre cloth and wet it in some lukewarm water. Wring it out nicely such that it is just damp and not wet. Use the smoothest part of the cloth (with no edges or folds) to wipe your speakers. Give them a thorough wipe from all angles.
Follow up by using the second, dry microfibre cloth to wipe the entire body of the speakers once again until it is completely dry. Your Bluetooth speaker should now be completely clean and ready for its next adventure.
