Over the years, video games have had a history of collaborating with other titles and pop culture, and the Call of Duty franchise is a good example of this. The game has previously partnered with franchises like Tomb Raider, Bandicoot, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Now, parent company Activision has banded with Netflix for a crossover between Call of Duty and the second season of Squid Game.
With the new season of Squid Game right around the corner, this announcement comes just at the right time.
Call of Duty x Squid Game crossover: Teaser released
The teaser features a Call of Duty operator who discovers a mysterious piece of paper next a freshly killed corpse with a trademark circle, triangle and square drawn on it. The symbols turn into the Call of Duty logo in the same format used in the intro of the web series Squid Game. The teaser also revealed a tentative release date, January 2025. No other information has been revealed as of now.

Fans are excited to know if the iconic red suits from Squid Game will be added to the game. It would be interesting if Call of Duty players would get to play the deadly games featured in the series like Red Light Green Light or the Glass Bridge.
As a part of Squid Game 2 promotions, Netflix has already announced Squid Game Unleashed, a multiplayer “party royale” game that will be launched on December 17 for iPhones and Android phones. It is important to note that Squid Game Unleashed is one of over 80 games that are currently in development as a part of gaming expansion on Netflix.
On the other hand, Microsoft recently announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 broke the record for the highest number of Game Pass subscriber additions on launch day. It surpassed the mark set by Starfield last year.
Until you wait for the Call of Duty x Squid Game crossover, the latest Black Ops 6 is available on PC, alongside the PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. You can also check out some new titles coming to OTT platforms in December 2024 while you wait.
