Remember how we spent hours on end playing Player Unknown’s Battle Grounds (And subsequently Battlegrounds Mobile India) during the pandemic-induced lockdowns of 2020-2021? If not PUBG or BGMI, perhaps Call of Duty: Warzone or Fortnite Battle Royale.
However, not everyone has the same kind of time on their hands today, to play seemingly endless battle royale games, looking to become the last man standing and for their “Winner Winner Chicken Dinner” moment. Moreover, not everyone’s phones have the required resources to run these fancy Battle Royale titles.
And this is when I turned to Bullet Echo India: Gung Game (which we will call Bullet Echo India henceforth) another title from Krafton, developed in collaboration with ZeptoLab (Of Cut the Rope fame). Here’s how Bullet Echo India works, and what I thought about it.
Bullet Echo India: What you need to know
At first glance, Bullet Echo India looks like any other player-versus-player shooter on the Play Store. However, what’s unique about the game is that it is a 2D title, played from a top-down perspective.

That’s not all. Unlike traditional titles in the genre, PvP matches are super quick. The average barely lasts for around two minutes, or less than the length of a full song.
Otherwise, it is similar to any other game in the genre, and has several modes such as Battle Royale, King of the Hill, Squad vs Squad, Sabotage and more. Weapons and player characters’ abilities and skins can be upgraded over time with in-game currency as well.
Bullet Echo India: What I liked
Right off the bat, what stands out is the game’s simple interface. Which in addition to being super easy to pick up, is also really fun. Two joysticks control a player’s movements, while buttons pop up or are highlighted based on a given situation, such as a reminder to reload your weapon, or maybe use a Medkit. Two cones also appear in front of a player. The first signifies the area visible to them at any given time (with the rest covered in a blanket of haze), and the second denotes your weapon’s range.
The game then, can be picked up by both seasoned FPS players as well as newbies alike, quite easily. What’s also striking is the sheer level of depth and detail one sees on the game, despite being a 2D title at the end of the day. A circle, for example, surrounds players and keeps changing sizes depending on how much noise they are making. The fact that you can also hide behind obstacles for cover adds a layer of depth to the game.
Unlike other titles, in Bullet Echo India, one can choose to not just customise their character, but change their characters as well. The game offers a variety of characters to choose from, which can be unlocked by opening mystery chests or leveling up in the game. The abilities of each of these characters, in turn, can also be upgraded as you progress in the game.
And the best part, of course, is the super quick matches. Owing to smaller teams and relatively small maps, matches last barely a few minutes, which means that the game provides super-quick entertainment on-the-go. Perfect to squeeze in a few during those coffee breaks at work, or maybe in between lectures at college.
Add to it different game modes, sign-in rewards, treasure chests, and the small size of the game which allows for even budget devices to run it easily, and one finds very little to fault with Bullet Echo India. Having said that though, there are a few niggles with it all the same.
Bullet Echo India: Things I didn’t like so much
Bullet Echo India is free and things can be purchased via in-game currency. However, there are quite a few annoying pop-ups which appear frequently, urging you to make in-app purchases.
Second, there’s the fact that there is no dedicated shoot button. While automatic shooting does help and works well for the most part, lack of manual control over shooting takes away from a player’s experience too.

And lastly, the option to play as multiple characters is cool. Each character gets a unique weapon. However, should you want to switch weapons, you have no option but to keep on playing and leveling up the heroes or to purchase the weapons via in-app purchases.
Having said that however, these are small niggles in an otherwise extremely entertaining game.
How to get Bullet Echo India: Gun Game
Bullet Echo India: Gun Game is available on both, Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store for Android smartphones and tablets, as well as iPhones and iPads. The game works on a freemium model wherein purchases can be made either via in-game currency or in-app purchases.
Bullet Echo India is great for quick entertainment on the go, and a brilliant starting point for those new to PvP titles in the Battle Royale genre. The multiplayer capabilities, fast-paced matches, and sheer level of detail on this 2D game make it all the more enjoyable, and a game we’d highly recommend you try out.
