Smartwatches are the perfect accompaniment to your smartphone, and that’s primarily because they work so incredibly well as a mini smartphone. They deliver notifications, glanceable information like your workout details and weather, and some can even dial or respond to calls.

Smartwatches, especially those with a calling feature, are one of the most effective means of limiting screen time by offloading distractions to a less distracting device. The best part is this feature can be found in watches that cost less than Rs 2,000.

1. Croma Stride Smartwatch

With a 48 mm IPS display – 1.91 inches across, an IP68 rating, and support for advanced features like workout and heart-rate tracking, not to mention Bluetooth calling and a 7-day battery life, the Croma Stride smartwatch is an excellent deal. It retails at just Rs 1,699 and offers a comprehensive and well-rounded feature-set for that price.

While it is available only in black, the design is simple and classy, ensuring that it will go well with any sort of attire, formal or casual. The Croma Stride Smartwatch is compatible with both iOS and Android

2. boAt Ultima Call Smartwatch

The boat Ultima Call smartwatch offers a lot of value for just Rs 1,199. It comes with a 1.83-inch LCD display with a 2.5D curve and a max brightness of 700 nits for daylight readability. Navigation is via the included dial and touch interface. The software, powered by Crest+ OS, is compatible with both iOS and Android and features an extensive catalogue of sports modes for tracking your health.

The watch tracks your daily activity, heart rate, and more, while being IP68 water and dust resistant and offering features like camera and music control, live cricket scores, weather updates, etc. Calls are handled via Bluetooth using a nearby smartphone. The watch is available in Cherry Blossom and Black shades.

3. noise Twist Go Smartwatch

While its feature-set is quite similar to that of other smartwatches in this price category, the noise Twist Go Smartwatch stands out with its circular watch face and elegant design. Another feature it boasts off that several budget watches don’t is an SpO2 monitor for tracking blood-oxygen levels. This makes it an especially good choice for older people with health issues. As for the rest, the watch features 100+ sports modes for tracking workouts, a heart-rate monitor, and even a sleep monitor. The battery is rated to last seven days.

4. Fire-Boltt Hulk BSW052 Smartwatch

If display quality matters a lot, we’d recommend the Fire-Boltt Hulk BSW052 Smartwatch. This is of course because it offers a 1.78-inch AMOLED display – a rarity in this price category. The watch normally retails at Rs 3,999 or so but is currently available at Rs 1,699 on Croma.

AMOLED screen aside, it’s a well-rounded smartwatch with all the necessary features including 100+ sport modes, heart-rate and sleep tracking, an SpO2 monitor, and an IP67 water resistance rating. That rating means it should be resistant to sweat, rain, and the occasional splash, but you can’t go swimming with it. It even has a built-in voice assistant to help get things done!

5. noise NoiseFit Force Plus

If you don’t mind spending just a smidge above Rs 2,000, the NoiseFit Force Plus Smartwatch from noise is a great buy. Available for Rs 2,199, this smartwatch is another one that offers an AMOLED display in this price bracket. On top of that, this is a round display with a 1.46-inch diameter in a chunky, sporty body.

As the design would suggest, this watch is clearly meant for the more athletic among us as it offers advanced health monitoring features including 130+ sports modes as well as the usual assortment of heart-rate, SpO2, and sleep monitors. In addition to these standard features, this watch can also track stress levels, breathing, and menstrual cycles.
