A kitchen chimney is a must-have in any kitchen. While an exhaust fan does help with air circulation and exhausting hot gases and smoke, it’s a decidedly inefficient option, especially in large kitchens. A kitchen chimney, on the other hand, is usually placed directly above your stove top and is far more capable when it comes to sucking up all that smoke.

In addition to smoke-clearing duties, an added advantage of kitchen chimneys is that you get more flexibility when designing the layout of your kitchen. Chimneys can be wall mounted or even hung over kitchen islands, after all. Simplifying things further is the fact that modern chimneys even come with auto-cleaning features that clear up all that icky oil and grease that accumulates at their base.
So, what chimney should you get? Here are our top recommendations!
1. Croma AG247703
2. Elica WDFL 606 MS NERO
3. Faber Sunny IN HC SC FL LG
4. Hindware Myra
5. Crompton QuietPro
Croma AG247703
This option from Croma AG247703 is designed for 200 sq ft kitchens and 2-4 burner stoves. The two features that stand out are the 1,300 cubic metre per hour (CMH) suction capacity, and the gesture control system for adjusting its power. The latter is particularly useful in a kitchen as you’ll just need to wave your hands in front of the chimney to adjust its power, saving you the hassle of having to wash your hands in the middle of cooking. It’s also priced very well for its features.
Elica WDFL 606 MS NERO
A more expensive option is Elica’s 606 MS NERO. It’s similar in specs to the previous model, but demands a premium for its quieter and more powerful motor – which also happens to come with a 15-year warranty. This chimney also includes auto-clean features and an oil collection system, not to mention motion-sensing and touch controls, as well as dual LED lamps for lighting up the cooking surface.
Faber Sunny IN HC SC FL LG
For larger kitchens, we’d recommend the Faber Sunny IN HC SC FL LG. It features a larger, 90 cm duct and a 1200 CMH capacity. This chimney is more useful for larger stovetops with 3-5 burners. It also comes with a 2-year product warranty and a 12-year warranty on the motor. It’s a more expensive option, but you’ll need to spend a little more if you want something this powerful.
Hindware Myra
The Hindware Myra is a budget-friendly option that we can wholeheartedly recommend for smaller kitchens. Hindware skimped on features to hit the budget, but made sure to offer adequate performance and essential functions that any home would need. The Myra has a 1000 CMH suction capacity, includes two LED lamps, two filters, and a button interface for adjusting suction power. Of course, the lower suction capacity also means that power consumption is quite low, leading to energy savings in the long run.
Crompton QuietPro
If budget isn’t an issue, we’d recommend the Crompton QuietPro with a 60 cm duct and 1780 CMH suction power. This beast of a chimney boasts of a glass and metal build and will elegantly slot into a designer kitchen.

The motor is especially powerful, which also allows the QuietPro to operate at much lower volume than the average chimney. Crompton allows for nine speeds and gesture support, which allows for more fine-grain control over power and noise.
To find the right chimney, we’d recommend taking the time to go over the specs and factor in your cooking habits. Designed for varying use-cases, budgets, and kitchen requirements, one of these five chimneys should be perfect for your home.
