The highly anticipated release of Barbie, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, has everyone on the edge of their seats. In fact, the makers are in the spotlight for their innovative (read: pink) promotional events. Whether it is having a real-life Barbie Malibu DreamHouse as a listing on Airbnb or bringing forth an AI selfie generator for its audience, the makers have left no stone unturned to connect with fans.
Jumping onto the trend, Google also dropped an Easter egg for Barbie fans to stumble upon this week. Several users searching for the cast were greeted with a pink screen and animated confetti celebrating the movie’s release. This hidden feature can be found on the search results page for actors Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, and director Greta Gerwig.
To view this Easter egg, all you have to do is search for the crew, as mentioned above, on Google, for a splash of confetti along with a pink screen. The effect even turns the font pink on the search results displayed on the first page and allows you to share the experience with your friends. Additionally, there’s no limit to how many times you want to replay the confetti (a number we’re not too proud of!)
Google had previously introduced similar Easter eggs for Marvel’s Avengers, Friend’s Reunion, and Robert Pattinson-starrer Batman. Barbie, the movie is all set to hit the cinemas on July 21. The fantasy-comedy revolves around Barbie and Ken living in their picture-perfect world, but eventually having to step out into the real world to interact with humans. We don’t know about you, but our calendars have been freed-up for the movie!
