Assassin’s Creed Shadows launch delayed once again

Ubisoft has once again postponed the release of its much-awaited game, the Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The title was supposed to arrive last year in November, but got pushed back to February. Now, the game has been delayed again with a new release date announced.

The game will now arrive on March 20, 2025. This means we still have several weeks ahead until we experience feudal Japan in the game. Ubisoft has also given the reason for the delay, and it said that it plans to polish the game even further to offer a better day-one experience.

Everything you need to know about Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be a different game as it will be set in the feudal Japan. The game will feature Naoe and Yasuke, the former is a female protagonist and the only survivor from the mountain village that was burned down by samurai pawns. She’s also a daughter of Fujibayashi Nagato, a popular assassin from the Iga community.

As for Yasuke, he’s an African samurai, who’s historically known as Japan’s first Black samurai. Yasuke later allies himself with Naoe, as revealed in a trailer released last year. Having said that, players may be able to get in the shoes of both the characters while playing the game.

This time around, Ubisoft is working on improving the combat system. The trailer did reveal some intense combat scenes with new combat-oriented skills.

As for the availability, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be available on PC and consoles, like the PlayStation 5. The game went for pre-orders last year, but those who did pre-order the game received their refunds as a compensation for the delay.
