After the first Assassin’s Cred Shadows trailer was released last month, Ubisoft was expected to showcase the gameplay of the title at the Ubisoft Forward showcase event on June 10. However, a day ahead of time, the company has now already released a minute long gameplay trailer that gives us a hint of what to expect.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows gameplay trailer: What’s new?
The trailer picks up right where the cinematic trailer ends. Our two characters Naoe and Yasuke and shown fighting against all kinds of foes with drastically different styles. While stealthy shinobi Naoe chooses rooftops, air assassinations, and quick Black Widow-esque moves to take down her enemies, samurai figure Yasuke has armoured up and will use all kinds of dueling weapons from spears to his katana.
The new Assassin’s Creed Shadows trailer shifts between the two protagonists and gives us a small taste of what to expect. What we did want to see was missions that blend the shinobi and samurai styles together to give us a more dynamic GTA V-like ‘choose your approach’ style of gameplay, but we guess that’s saved for the showcase tomorrow.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows: What we know so far
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set in feudal Japan, similar to titles like Ghost of Tsushima or Rise of the Ronin. Like Ghost of Tsushima, Shadows will focus on both stealth and head-on combat approaches, all presumably tied in together with the larger Assassin Order storyline.
