Apple WWDC 2025 dates announced: Everything you can expect

Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference usually happens in June every year, but normally, Apple formally announces the event dates in May, towards the end of the month. This year, in a surprising turn of events, the company has announced the WWDC 2025 dates three whole months before the event kicks off.

When and where will WWDC 2025 happen?

Apple’s 36th annual WWDC 2025 will take place between June 9 and June 13 at Apple Park, Cupertino. The keynote will be held on the first day, June 9, followed by developer sessions for the rest of the week. Developers and students will be invited to attend the five-day-long event to test new Apple software and witness its unveiling live.

As always, Tim Cook will host the keynote at Apple Park. The event will also be live-streamed, so anyone can watch it online to learn about Apple’s latest software and innovations. The keynote will be available on YouTube, Apple’s website, and the Apple Developer App.

What to expect at WWDC 2025?

Apple is expected to unveil the highly anticipated iOS 19 at WWDC 2025. Alongside that, the company will also introduce iPadOS 19, macOS 16, tvOS 19, watchOS 12, and visionOS 3. A host of online sessions and labs will also be available, allowing developers to explore the new features before the final software versions roll out to the public.

The company is hosting an in-person event as well, which will be open to Apple Developer Program members, Apple Entrepreneur Camp alumni, previous Swift Student Challenge winners, and current Apple Developer Enterprise Program members.

This year’s software updates are expected to bring a major design overhaul with circular app icons, transparent panels, and a visual style that aligns with VisionOS. This revamp will likely extend to icons, menus, apps, windows, and system buttons across all Apple platforms.

WWDC may also include some hardware announcements, such as a new MacBook Pro and the second generation of AirTags.

One reason Apple may have announced WWDC earlier than usual could be growing user dissatisfaction over missing Apple Intelligence features. The 2025 keynote is expected to focus heavily on these concerns and introduce new AI-driven capabilities.

Apple faced challenges delivering the promised advanced Siri features last year, but this could finally be addressed at the upcoming conference. We’ll just have to wait and see. For the latest news and developments in the world of tech, stay tuned to Unboxed by Croma.
