After years of speculation, Apple finally announced the Apple Vision Pro at WWDC 2023. The Apple Vision Pro is a mixed-reality headset that works as a spatial computer where digital media is integrated with the real world. The device has been made available only in a few countries and India is not one of them.
The immersive videos are presented in 3D and are meant to make the viewer feel like they are a part of the scene. Apple has now announced a short film explicitly scripted and designed for Apple’s Vision Pro headset. Excited?
Apple Vision Pro: Submerged
The short film ‘Submerged’ was initially announced in July. This film has been created by Austrian director and Academy Award winner Edward Berger who is best known for directing the movie All Quiet on the Western Front.
The film has won Oscars for international feature, score, production design, and cinematography at the 95th Academy Awards.

Submerged will take you on a journey with a World War II submarine crew that combats a harrowing torpedo attack. It should be an adrenaline-pumping thrilling ride with Apple Immersive Video.
Submerged will be available on Apple Vision Pro on October 10, 2024. While other video have lasted between five to 15 minutes, the short film is expected to be longer.
Apple shared a trailer for Submerged on their YouTube channel. It will be best enjoyed with the Apple Vision Pro. But since it is not available in India, it will be made available on Apple TV later which can be enjoyed on iPhones and MacBooks.
If you have the Vision Pro, other videos are available to watch on the headset. There are documentary-style videos or travelogues like ‘Wild Life’ which gets up close with wild animals or takes you diving in the Bahamas. These videos are crafted to share immersive video experiences through the headset.
