Apple’s new iPhone 15 series was launched earlier this year, providing its smartphones the yearly refresh Apple fans wait for an entire year for. However, some of Apple’s products which were expected to also get a refresh this year, simply haven’t. Apple will be changing soon on October 31 (October 30 in the US).
The brand has confirmed its new launch event titled “Scary Fast” which appropriately lines up with Halloween, also held on the same day. The name likely points at the launch of new Mac computers and MacBook series laptops, as numerous sources have already suggested.
Apple ‘Scary Fast’ event: What to expect?
As usual, no concrete details are currently available on what Apple is expected to launch at the keynote, but as per leaks Apple may be dropping a new 24-inch iMac for those who want a powerful all-in-one experience, minus the large display. The brand may also be launching new MacBook Pro variants, which seems more likely since Gurman suggested Apple’s inventory of 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pros are close to being depleted.

What’s going to power these machines is an easier guess. The new MacBooks and iMac are expected to be powered by the Apple M3 chip series, which will officially succeed the M2 series. Beyond a boost to CPU and graphical performance, a staple with new M-series chips, also expect the M3 to be better equipped for AR/VR use cases, a direction Apple has headed in with products like the Vison Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro series.
The new chipsets could also be more focused on gaming than ever before. Apple recently introduced Game Centre on newer macOS versions, also bringing console level gaming support for the iPhone 15 Pro series, solidifying its focus on gaming moving forward.
What about the new iPads?
Just like we see new iPhones every September, October is the month where we usually see new iPads line up on Apple Store shelves. However, reports by Gurman suggest we may not see new iPad refreshes until next year. Instead, what we got earlier this month was a newer, more affordable Apple Pencil with a USB Type-C port. It wouldn’t be surprising to see the new iPad Pro series to also sport the M3 chipset from the new MacBooks, something Apple has done before.

Note that all the above-mentioned details are based on leaks and rumours, and are not officially confirmed by Apple yet, so we suggest you take these with a grain of salt for now. What products Apple will officially announce should be confirmed next week.
