iOS 17.1 gave Apple Music much-anticipated updates, including playlist covers. However, Android users with an Apple Music subscription are in for exciting new features, with the brand recently announcing additions to the app. Beginning from SharePlay to fresh widgets, there’s a lot in the pipeline for Android users. What's new on Apple Music for Android?
On updating, users can now benefit from Playlist Covers that allow one to put up pre-designed photos as the cover of their playlists. It not only shows the animated version of the album art, but also stretches it across the edges of your screen to make it look more immersive than ever. Along with this, users also now have the SharePlay feature, which Apple introduced in June with its iOS 17 update. This feature will let anyone in the vehicle control the music that is being played.

Moreover, Apple Music has now increased the number of widgets from two to four for users to go through, from top charts, recently played, what’s playing to recommendations within the app. Lastly, there is more to save with the updated Apple Music app, as users can favourite songs and playlists using the new ‘star’ icon. Favourited media will appear within the user’s library for ease of accessibility.
