Apple’s iPad and iPad Pro get a massive update just in time for Diwali shopping

Apple has just made Diwali a bit more colourful with the launch of the redesigned iPad. The 10th gen iPad not only gets an updated look, but also better features, and four new colour options. Additionally, the iPad Pro also gets a massive productivity boost with the latest M2 chipset under the hood.

The first thing you notice is that the iPad now features a new design, which is more in line with Apple’s recent launches. There entry-level iPad no longer has the home button, and in its place is all-screen look. The 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display gets 2360 x 1640 pixels resolution, 500 nits of brightness, and Apple’s True Tone technology.

With the home button gone, Touch ID has been moved to the power button on the top. Under the hood is an A14 Bionic chipset, which promises 20% better CPU and 10% better GPU performance when compared to the previous-gen iPad.

For those who don’t mind shooting photos or videos from your iPad, there’s a 12MP lens at the back with 4K video support, and a 12MP selfie camera up front. Connectivity options include 5G support, and Type-C port at the bottom.

As the name suggests, it can detect the Apple Pencil from 12mm above the display, which adds a new dimension to how the stylus can be used.
