Apple’s new iPad Pro, iPad Air variants could launch sooner than you think

Only last week, Apple unveiled the new MacBook Air M3 variant, but there seems to be more in store for fans this month. While the brand didn’t launch new iPads last year, rumours hint at a possible iPad announcement in the upcoming few weeks.

If that’s not all, tipsters have also mentioned Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil accessories that could be rolled out alongside the new iPad Pro and iPad Air models. If the announcement has you excited, here’s everything you need to know about it:

New iPad Pro, iPad Air launch: What's there to know

According to a report by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, the new iPad Pro and Air variants are likely to launch with a ‘special version’ of its most recent iPadOS 17.4 update.

The new iPad Pro will have a 12.9-inch OLED display option with the powerful M3 chipset. The iPad Pro will also most likely flaunt a slimmer facade and sport a front camera for landscape pictures.

Other aesthetic developments will include a rear camera bump and Apple is even looking at throwing the MagSafe wireless charging as a potential feature.

The iPad Air, on the other hand, will feature an M2 chipset under the hood along with a landscape front camera. Gurman also mentions how this would be the first time an iPad Air could have a 12.9-inch display option. Apple, however, will introduce the Pro model with a maximum of 4TB storage option.

Apple also plans to introduce a new version of the Magic Keyboard, which will be specially designed for the iPad Pro. It will feature many design enhancements, an aluminium facade and a larger trackpad. Apart from this, there also seems to be an Apple Pencil in the works, which is rumoured to bring in more upgrades to the brand’s lineup of accessories.

When will the new iPad Pro, iPad Air launch?

While there have been no official announcements from the brand over the launch, Gurman states that it could be towards the ‘end of March or the beginning of April’. Given that this timeline isn’t very far away, we may see Apple make a new upcoming launch event official any day now.
