Apple to introduce Truecaller-like caller ID for businesses soon

The rising threat of spam calls along with other malicious elements has been growing exponentially and more so, after AI intervention. That said, Apple seems to have a solution in the pipeline, which it introduced recently on its Business Connect program.

The move was announced to ensure businesses, both online and offline, can add their brand name and logo to their contact for users to identify them better. Whether you’re running a business or are simply an iPhone user, here’s what you need to know about the new addition:

Apple introduces Business Caller ID: What's there to know?

As mentioned above, the primary objective of having a Business Caller ID is to introduce a business with a relevant brand name and logo to the customer or receiver. According to the company, this addition is especially helpful for brands to introduce themselves and help receivers distinguish them between spam calls.

It goes on to state how once the feature rolls out, companies of all sizes can register themselves with a name, logo and department to be a part of Apple’s new service. If that’s not all, the new addition will be available on Apple Maps, Wallet, as well as email. Business Connect will additionally allow organisations to customise their logo while using Tap to Pay on iPhones. This extension will appear to customers attempting to pay a business while making a purchase online.

Apple Business Caller ID: When will this feature be available to everyone?

Apple at its Business Connect event mentioned how the caller ID feature will be available to all users sometime next year. The company, however, hasn’t mentioned the date of its rollout. That said, businesses can go on and register themselves via Apple’s Business Connect platform online.

To register your business, all you need to do is log in via an Apple ID. Once done, users will have access to device management, 24/7 support, as well as cloud storage for every Apple device associated with the business.
