3 Apple Arcade games launching in January: What you need to know

Apple is spreading a little year-end cheer and has just announced three new games for its gaming platform – Apple Arcade. The company has been rapidly expanding its gaming hub’s collection and announced an increase in the subscription price for the same in October for the first time.

New games announced for Apple Arcade

Subscribers of Apple Arcade will get three new games to try out on the platform, starting January 4. These include, Tamagotchi Adventure Kingdom, Cornsweeper, and Blackjack.

1. Tamagotchi Adventure Kingdom

Tamagotchi Adventure Kingdom will see players take on the role of Mametchi, who is working to restore peace on the Tamagotchi planet after a series of mysterious events. As Mametchi, in addition to solving the mystery that brought the calamity on Tamagotchi, you also explore the planet, looking for over 300 characters to decorate your wilderness camps, as well as find hidden treasure, and help citizens in need from time to time.

2. Cornsweeper

Developed by a solo developer from Jamaica, Robert Morrison Jr, Cornsweeper is inspired by the famous logical puzzle game Minesweeper. We say inspired because the game itself has been described as a “chill and whimsical reimagining” of the original game, albeit with newer graphics and a reggae-infused lo-fi soundtrack.

3. Blackjack

Blackjack is a classic casino game wherein players attempt to reach a score of 21 before the dealer gets to 17 and is making its way to Apple devices. The game, developed by MobilityWare+ has plenty of playing options to choose from, as well as several locations wherein one can play and try to climb the leaderboards.
