Installing new apps on Google Play Store will become easier

Android apps may soon open automatically once installed

Google Play Store is reportedly working on a new feature that can ease installing a new app on your Android phone. The ‘Auto open’ feature is set to automatically open an application upon installation from the Google Play Store. It eliminates the option of manually searching for the app. This reported feature may be an extension to the recently launched feature that allows users to download up to three apps simultaneously.

Google Play Store Auto-Open feature: How it works

Google seems to be working on a feature that will automatically opens freshly installed apps from the Play Store. There is said to be a toggle that allows users to opt for an ‘Auto Open’ option while installing an app from the Play Store. Once the installation is complete, the app will directly open. This feature is expected to be rolled out on Android devices soon.

In a report by Android Authority, the feature was said to be in a testing phase since June this year. Based on a video in the report, a five-second countdown timer appears as a notification before the app automatically opens. The option is said to appear just below the ‘Install’ option on the Google Play Store.

Google Play Store allows multiple downloads

The auto-opening feature is the latest in several Play Store changes that make installing apps easier for users. Recently, Google also introduced the ability to install up to three apps at the same time. With more and more platforms taking the app-approach, the Play Store, just like your phone, is bound to have many new apps in the years to come, and features like these should make handling hundreds of them a tad easier.
