Alien: Isolation game is getting a sequel

Alien: Isolation, a horror survival game based on the Alien film series, is getting a sequel. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the release of the game, developers at Creative Assembly, have announced that a sequel is in the works.

In 2014, when the game was released, it received rave reviews, making it one of the best video game adaptations from the Alien franchise. Here is what we know about the sequel, which could be called Alien: Isolation 2.

While addressing the fans of Alien: Isolation on the anniversary, the game’s creative director Al Hope thanked players for enjoying their “dream project”. He also mentioned that the sequel is in early development and will share more details shortly.

The twist and turns that will be incorporated can only be speculated since he did not divulge any details about the game or its launch timeline. However, the users can hope that the dreary atmosphere and fear of the first game will be retained.

The Alien franchise has seen an upswing after the latest movie Alien: Romulus was considered an IMAX-worthy watch. There is also an Alien TV show that is set to debut next year, which is helmed by Noah Hawley, showrunner of Fargo.

Alien: Isolation History

Alien: Isolation was first launched on the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC. The game was ported to the Nintendo Switch in 2019, and to iOS and Android in 2021.

Set 15 years after the first Alien film, the game follows Amanda Ripley, daughter of the film’s iconic protagonist Ellen Ripley, who is on a mission to investigate her mother’s disappearance on space station Sevastopol. However, the station is terrorised by a Xenomorph, so the players need to avoid detection.

Rather than confronting the Xenomorph directly, the game requires Amanda to complete her objectives while trying to sneak around and eventually defeat the alien with limited weapons at their disposal.

The game received acclaim for its intense gameplay in the survival horror genre. Now, that is has been announced, gamers are eagerly awaiting the sequel.
