Marvel fans were treated to a new lineup of movies when the president of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige took the stage at the Disney Entertainment Showcase in Brazil. This was the first ever D23 fan event to be hosted in Brazil.
At the Ultimate Disney fan event, Feige revealed some exciting details including exclusive footage, major announcements and a few surprise guests who graced the stage from around the Marvel multiverse.
While some Marvel series were announced earlier, what stood out were three movies that will be released in theatres in 2025.
Captain America: Brave New World
Marvel Studios dropped a full-length trailer for Captain America: Brave New World. After getting a glimpse at the Falcon holding the blue and red shield in the miniseries The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, this movie will be Anthony Mackie’s first cinematic appearance as the new Captain America.
This movie will also mark Harrison Ford’s MCU debut as US President Thaddeus Ross. Liv Tyler and Tim Blake Nelson reprise their roles as Betty Ross and Samuel Sterns from The Incredible Hulk.
The movie is set for release in theatres on February 14, 2025.
Thunderbolts*
The D23 event also gave us a special look at the upcoming movie Thunderbolts*. Florence Pugh and David Harbour return as Yelena Belova and Alexei or Reg Guardian from the movie Black Widow which was released in 2021, after the Avengers: Endgame.
It looks like a band of misfits will be Valentina’s own version of the Avengers. The trailer showcases a lot of humour with plenty of action making it a classic Marvel movie that fans are looking forward to.
Thunderbolts* is slated to release on May 2, 2025, and is said to conclude the MCU’s Phase Five.
Fantastic Four: First Steps
Among the list of series and movies that were announced, fans were treated to an exclusive sneak peek at the upcoming The Fantastic Four: First Steps. This upcoming movie is set to star Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach in lead roles. The fans present at the D23 event also got a special video message from the set in United Kingdom where the movie is being filmed.
Directed by Matt Shakman, the film will hit the theatres on July 25, 2025.
