YouTube adds a new Premium feature that makes queued videos smarter

If you often struggled with finding the best content for yourself on YouTube, a new Premium feature is all set to change content discovery for you. The platform just rolled out an update which integrates personalised video recommendations directly into users’ existing viewing queues. According to YouTube, this is aimed to establish a more seamless and intuitive browsing experience.

The new functionality allows subscribers to access tailored video suggestions without navigating away from their current queue, potentially reducing the time users spend searching for new content. Here’s what you need to know:

More often than not, you find videos absolutely unrelated to your watchlist in your queue. However, this new feature can ensure you find a selection of recommended videos best suited to your viewing habits.

According to the brand, it is designed to complement the video that’s playing for a smoother experience, and of course, save you time! Check out the steps to make it work:

Step 1: On your YouTube smartphone or laptop app, find a video to play later by tapping on the ‘add to queue’ button

Step 2: Then, open your recommended videos or queued content

Step 3: You will now find recommended content within this list

Step 4: You can tap on the queued content to begin watching it immediately, or tap on the three-dot menu to add it to the beginning or end of your queue

YouTube Queue gets smarter: Availability details

YouTube has currently rolled out this feature for Android users with a Premium-tier subscription. While it hasn’t mentioned if or when these features will be available for iOS users, there’s a good chance that it will follow suit shortly.

Apart from this, YouTube also extended the Faster Playback Speeds feature on mobile experimental till April 7th. This typically allows users to adjust playback speeds up to 4x and allows finer control through 0.05 increments for more flexibility.
