Samsung’s Galaxy S23 FE has been one of the most anticipated devices of the year, owing to the fact it has specs nearly at par with its more premium, flagship siblings- the Galaxy S23 lineup, at a fraction of the price. What’s more, Samsung has also ensured that the device remains on par with the S23 series in terms of software, and has begun to out the Android 14-based One UI 6 update for the same.

Before we go ahead though, it is important to note that the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is available in two variants – one with an Exynos 2200 chipset, and one with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The update is currently being rolled out only to the Exynos variant, which is what is available in India. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 variant available globally, is expected to receive it sometime later. When, remains unknown as of yet.

Samsung’s One UI 6 brings with it a host of new features, to provide for a smoother and more fluid user experience. One of these happens to be a Quick Panel, through which one can access their favorite, most frequently used apps. Another feature is improved multitasking, as the OS now allows users to keep the “current” tab open even if they bring up the “recent” tab and close it. Other features include a revamped home and lock screen with more options for customisation, a new typeface, improved animations, and of course, a system-wide AI integration, such as in the gallery app to edit and sort photos.
