Here are the Xiaomi devices that will receive the HyperOS update

Xiaomi’s HyperOS has been around for just about a month now. However, only a handful of devices have received the update. The operating system, which replaced Xiaomi’s beloved MIUI after nearly 14 years, is now being rolled out to a few more devices, starting next month. Read on to find out just which ones they are, and if your Xiaomi or Redmi device will be receiving the update just yet.

HyperOS rolling out to Xiaomi devices

Xiaomi has just announced that it will roll out the HyperOS developer update for 11 devices. They are as follows – Xiaomi 12S Ultra, Xiaomi 12S Pro, Xiaomi 12S, Xiaomi 12 Pro, Xiaomi 12 Pro Dimensity Edition, Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4, Redmi K50 Ultra, Redmi K50 Gaming Edition, Redmi K50 Pro, and the Redmi K50.

Strangely, no word is out yet on if and when the Xiaomi 13 lineup will receive the update considering both its predecessor and successor are eligible for the same. Moreover, whether the Xiaomi Pad 5 will receive the update also remains unknown as now.

HyperOS features to look out for

Perhaps the biggest feature to look out for with HyperOS is the inter-device connectivity capabilities it offers, similar to the Apple ecosystem. In essence, you can do anything from working on a task in the same app on two devices, accepting or rejecting calls across devices, to using them as a universal clipboard, and even using your Xiaomi phone’s camera as a webcam for your Xiaomi laptop.

In addition to this, HyperOS also comes packed with AI-based text generation capabilities, a doodles-to-image converter, image searches using natural language queries, and even the ability to convert images to text.

Other features include notifications similar to the way one would see on an iOS device with a dynamic island, a quick settings menu, and more. The aforementioned devices will receive the new HyperOS UI as an over-the-air (OTA) update starting next month.
