Xiaomi has unveiled its much-awaited flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is the brand’s most premium smartphone this year. It comes with an updated design, Leica-tuned quad cameras, and Qualcomm’s latest and most powerful Snapdragon chip for smartphones. Additionally, it also packs a gigantic battery. Xiaomi 15 Ultra specifications and features

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is a beast of a flagship phone, from its design to its internals. The smartphone builds on the design of the predecessor, but refines it to make it slightly more premium. The device has a 6.73-inch 12-bit OLED display with LTPO technology, allowing it to have a variable refresh rate between 1Hz and 120Hz.

The narrow-bezel screen has 3200 nits of peak brightness, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and 1920Hz PWM Dimming. The panel has Xiaomi’s Ceramic Glass 2.0 protection. Moving to the cameras, it has a 32MP selfie snapper, which is an OmniVision OV32B40 sensor capable of recording 4K videos at 60fps.

The rear setup of the phone comprises a Leica-tuned quad-camera system with a 50MP 1-inch type sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor, a 50MP telephoto camera, and a 200MP super telephoto sensor. With the rear cameras, the device can shoot 8K videos.

Powering the smartphone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 internal storage. Xiaomi has offered a massive 6,000mAh battery inside with 90W wired and 80W wireless fast charging support. It boots on Android 15-based HyperOS 2.0. The device has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

As for connectivity, it has 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and GPS (among other GNSS options). The device also supports satellite communication. It uses Tiantong’s satellite communications function, which is said to be the world’s first mobile phone with direct satellite data function.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra price and availability

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra starts at CNY 6,499 (about Rs 78,000) for the base 12GB + 256GB variant and goes up to CNY 7,799 (about Rs 93,700) for the 16GB + 1TB variant. The device will go on sale from March 3 in China and is set to go global a day before that, i.e., March 2.
