There are quite a few things that provide us relief from the infamous summers in India. Some find relief in cold beverages, some bank on their fans for circulation on dry days without wind. And then, you have the most popular option by far – Air conditioners.
Ever since their advent, very few things managed to come as close to its incredible cooling capacity. While one does have the option of air coolers and fans too, ACs remain unmatched. Here’s what you need to know about them.
How ACs work and what makes them indispensable
How an AC works is, it sucks air into the ducts through a vent. This air is then used to cool case in the evaporator, as a result of which, all the heat is removed from the air using refrigerants, and is dissipated outdoors. This cooled air is then blown back in to the room via the same ducts they came from. This process continues until your room reaches the desired temperature, as set on the AC’s control panel.

However, with modern ACs, their function isn’t merely restricted to cooling during the summers. These days, ACs via built-in filters can extract all allergens and bacteria in the air, to ensure the air you breathe is not just cool, but also clean. In addition to this, they also eliminate the need for heaters in the winter, as they are capable of maintaining a consistent and comfortable, warm temperature in a room
The fact that ACs today can just about do it all, makes them one of the most indispensable gadgets in our everyday lives.
