Vivo recently launched the all-new Vivo X200 series in India. The series comprises of the X200 Pro and X200, both models come with improved cameras, a new chipset, a big battery, and the latest operating system. But what’s the exact difference between the X200 series and the predecessor series – Vivo X100? Let’s find out in this Vivo X200 vs Vivo X100 showdown.
Vivo X200 vs Vivo X100: Design and display
The new Vivo X200 series doesn’t have a drastic design difference when compared to the Vivo X100 phones, except for a few minor uplifts. All four phones, including the Vivo X200, X200 Pro, X100, and X100 Pro come with a similar design on the front and rear. All models have a circular camera island on the back and a curved screen upfront.
However, the camera island on the X200 models is slightly more refined. The X200 has a 6.67-inch 120Hz LTPS AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and 4,500 nits of peak brightness. Vivo X100 has a slightly larger 6.78-inch 120Hz LTPO AMOLED display with the same resolution, but with a lower 3,000 nits of peak brightness.
The Vivo X200 Pro, on the other hand, has a 6.78-inch 8T LTPO 120Hz AMOLED screen with a 1.5K resolution and 4,500 nits of peak brightness. The X100 Pro has the same screen size, but with a old generation of LTPO AMOLED screen, featuring a 1.5K resolution and a lower 3,000 nits of peak brightness.
Vivo X200 vs Vivo X100: Cameras
In terms of cameras, the X200 Pro gets a triple-rear camera system with a 50MP Sony LYT-818 main lens, a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultra-wide lens, and a new 200MP Samsung HP9 Zeiss APO sensor with 3.7x optical zoom.

The Vivo X100 Pro, on the other hand, has a triple camera setup with a 50MP Sony IMX989 main lens, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 50MP APO telephoto lens with 4.3x optical zoom. So, the optical zoom range has been reduced, but a new sensor has been added to the X200 Pro.
As for the Vivo X200, it has a triple camera array with a 50MP Sony LYT-818 main lens, a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultra-wide sensor, and a 50MP Sony IMX882 telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.
Vivo’s X100 has a triple camera setup with a 50MP IMX920 main lens, 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 64MP telephoto lens. The telephoto lens on the X100 is slightly older.
The new Vivo X200 series also has the V3+ imaging chip for better image processing as compared to the vanilla V3 chip inside the X100 series. There’s Zeiss T* coating on all four models. The selfie camera on all models remains unchanged on the paper, i.e., a 32MP lens.
Vivo X200 vs Vivo X100: Performance, battery, software
The Vivo X200 series is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset, paired with 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The X100 series has a generation old chipset, i.e., a Dimensity 9300 chipset with the same RAM and storage type. So, expect a slightly better performance on the new X200 phones.
There’s a big battery upgrade in the Vivo X200 series, with X200 featuring a 5,800mAh cell and the X200 Pro housing a massive 6,000mAh battery. The X200 has a 90W wired charging support, whereas, the X200 Pro has a 90W wired and 30W wireless charging support.
The X100 and X100 Pro pack smaller 5,000mAh and 5,400mAh batteries with support for 120W and 100W fast charging, respectively. The X100 Pro has 50W wireless fast charging support. Given that, while the batteries have been bumped up, the fast charging speeds have been reduced.
Since the Vivo X200 series is new, it runs on the latest Android 15 OS with FuntouchOS 15 on top. It’s promised to get four years of OS updates and five years of security updates. The X100 series ships with Android 14-based Funtouch OS 14 on top, but it will get one less year of software support. It’s worth noting that the X100 series has already received the Android 15 update.

That’s all for this comparison. To conclude, the Vivo X200 series has some internal upgrades like the chipset, cameras, and battery. However, there’s no major change in the design, and aspects like fast charging are better on the year-old X100 series of phones.
With this comparison, you can easily decide which model to pick and whether or not to upgrade if you already own a Vivo X100 device.
