Vivo just launched the all-new Vivo V50e in India. The smartphone comes with a premium design and solid hardware. This includes a quad-curved display, a Dimensity chipset, and a 50MP selfie camera. At a price tag of Rs 28,999, it makes for a compelling choice.
But how does it compare to the popular Nothing Phone (3a) Pro, which also comes in the same price segment? Well, we’ll find the answer to that question in this Vivo V50e vs Nothing Phone (3a) showdown. So, read on if you are planning to get one of these phones.
Vivo V50e vs Nothing Phone (3a) Pro: Design and display
Both the Vivo V50e and the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro differ drastically in terms of design. Where the new Vivo V50e has a fashionable look with a shiny back, the Phone (3a) Pro boasts an uncanny design with LED lighting (which Nothing calls the Glyph interface).
Both phones have a 6.77-inch AMOLED screen with up to 120Hz refresh rate, FHD+ resolution, and HDR10+ support. However, the Phone (3a) Pro has a brighter panel that peaks at 3,000 nits, as opposed to the V50e’s 1,800 nits of peak brightness.

The V50e has a quad-curved screen, whereas the Phone (3a) Pro features a flat panel. There’s Panda Glass protection on the latter, while the former gets Diamond Shield Glass protection.
Vivo V50e vs Nothing Phone (3a) Pro: Cameras
While Vivo is known for its camera-centric phones, this time around, the V50e isn’t quite the camera phone you’d expect. It has a modest dual-rear camera system with a 50MP main sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide unit. The front camera, however, is where it shines, thanks to the 50MP sensor that’s capable of recording 4K videos.
The Phone (3a) Pro, on the other hand, has a proper three-camera setup with a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP periscope telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultrawide unit. Both phones have OIS, which you should be fine with videography. On the front, there’s a 50MP selfie camera on your Phone (3a) as well, which, like the V50e, can shoot 4K videos.
Vivo V50e vs Nothing Phone (3a) Pro: Performance and battery
Moving to performance, it’s a competition between MediaTek and Dimensity. The Vivo V50e has a Dimensity 7300 chipset with Mali-G615 MC2 GPU. The Phone (3a) gets a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset with Adreno 710 GPU.
Notably, both have up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, with the Phone (3a) having 12GB RAM. The V50e has a lone 8GB RAM variant, which is still enough for day-to-day tasks.
In terms of battery, the V50e strides further, thanks to its 5,600mAh battery with 90W fast charging support. The Phone (3a) Pro has a comparatively smaller 5,000mAh cell with a 50W charging speed. Regardless of the phone you choose, both can be fully charged in about an hour.
Vivo V50e vs Nothing Phone (3a) Pro: Software and AI features
Both the V50e and the Phone (3a) Pro boot on Android 15 out of the box, with the Phone (3a) promising to receive three years of Android and six years of security updates. The V50e, on the other hand, gets three Android updates and four years of security updates.
The good news is that both the Vivo V50e and the Phone (3a) Pro come with AI features. The V50e has AI Image Expander, AI Transcript Assist, Live Call Translation, AI Note Assist, AI Screen Translation, AI SuperLink, AI Eraser 2.0, and Google’s Circle to Search.

As for the AI features on the Phone (3a) Pro, it has Essential Space, which is a dedicated space for content organised and curated by AI. This content is the one that you show the phone using the Essential Key.
Apart from this, both phones have the same set of connectivity features, including Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, and GPS. Both have an in-display fingerprint scanner for added security. The Phone (3a) has IP64 certification, whereas the V50e has both IP68 and IP69 certification, making it more durable.
Overall, the V50e offers a fashionable design, a better-looking screen, and a durable body. On the other hand, the Phone (3a) has a better camera setup, which includes a dedicated telephoto sensor, and a unique design.
Having said that, both are good options for under Rs 30,000, and you won’t be wrong with any of these.
