The upper mid-range smartphone segment seems to be where all the action has been at lately. The segment has recently seen a slew of new offerings from brands like Realme, Redmi, Oppo, and even OnePlus.
Now, another brand has launched its latest additions in this segment. Vivo has added two new smartphones to its camera-centric V-series – namely the V30 and the V30 Pro.
Vivo V30 key features and specifications
The Vivo V30 series of smartphones comprises of two devices – namely, the Vivo V30 and Vivo V30 Pro. Let’s take a closer look at each of them.
1. Vivo V30 series: Performance and storage
The Vivo V30 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, whereas the higher-end V30 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset.

The former is available in three variants – two with 8GB RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of storage, and one with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The latter is available in two storage variants – one with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, and another with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage.
2. Vivo V30 series: Battery
Both smartphones in the Vivo V30 series pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 80W FlashCharge. What’s more, Vivo also says that the smartphones are equipped with an extended battery lifespan, with battery health remaining at 80 per cent even after use for up to four years thanks to a life cycle of as much as 1,600 charge-discharge cycles.
3. Vivo V30 series: Display
The Vivo V30 and V30 Pro smartphones sport a 6.78-inch, 1.5K resolution (2800×1260 pixels) 3D curved AMOLED display, with a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a peak local brightness of 2800 nits, making the phones super easy to use in the sunlight.
The two smartphones get a reinforced middle frame, raised metal edges, and aluminum alloy corners, which Vivo says, adds to the phones’ durability. The phones also get ‘Schott Xensation α’ glass protection for the display.
There seems to be no water or dust resistance ratings on the phones, however.
4. Vivo V30 series: Cameras
The base Vivo V30 sports a dual camera setup at the rear, with a 50MP primary sensor with support for optical image stabilisation (OIS) and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera. On the front, is also a high-resolution 50MP camera, housed in a punch-hole camera cutout.

The higher-end Vivo V30 Pro, on the other hand, is equipped with a triple camera setup at the rear, with the Zeiss branding. The setup comprises of a 50MP portrait sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle Camera, and a 50MP primary sensor, also with support for OIS. The front camera, again, is a 50MP camera, the same as the Vivo V30.
What’s cool is, both smartphones can record 4K videos from both, the front and rear cameras.
5. Vivo V30 series: Operating system
Both the Vivo V30 and V30 Pro run Android 14-based FunTouch OS 14, with a guaranteed three years of Android OS updates as well as four years of security updates.
Vivo V30 series: Pricing and availability
The base Vivo V30 is available in three colours – Andaman Blue, a ‘colour-changing’ Peacock Green variant, and Classic Black. It is priced at Rs 33,999 and 35,999 for the 8GB RAM variants with 128GB and 256GB of storage respectively, and Rs 37,999 for the 12GB RAM variant with 256GB storage.
The Vivo V30 Pro, on the other hand, is available in Andaman Blue and Classic Black colourways. It is priced at Rs 41,999 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, and Rs 46,999 for the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage variant.
A few other options one can consider against the Vivo V30 series of smartphones are the OnePlus 12R and the Nothing Phone (2). On the other hand, a few alternatives to the Vivo V30 Pro are the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, and the Oppo Reno 10 Pro+.
