Vivo Funtouch OS 15 launched with Android 15: Check eligible devices

Vivo has officially launched its latest software skin for Vivo smartphones. Android 15-based Funtouch OS 15 is here, and it has arrived earlier than its original October release timeline.

Vivo is amongst the first few brands to roll out the Android 15 update, giving Vivo users a taste of its key features, well ahead of the competition. Let’s see everything new with Funtouch OS 15, including its features and availability.

Funtouch OS 15 is here, but what’s new?

Vivo says that Funtouch OS 15 brings over 3,800 redesigned design elements, such as updated system colours, icons, fonts, and illustrations. There are now nine general system themes with support for static, immersive, and video wallpapers.

It also brings new fingerprint recognition and screen on and off animations, and also brings in customisable app icons. Users also get to keep large folders, making it easier to access multiple apps.

Other than the cosmetics, Funtouch OS 15 is also lighter and faster. As per Vivo, it has a 20 per cent quicker app startup response, 15 per cent faster average app startup speed under overload conditions, and 40 per cent faster memory compression.

For gamers, the latest software adds an upgraded Ultra Game Mode that has a convenient sidebar with a performance panel and game tools. This allows for quick access to most handy tools and settings. So, you can easily adjust the refresh rate and touch sampling rate, among other things, while you are in the game.

Vivo phones now get S-Capture mode with Funtouch OS 15. It allows users to add annotations during screen recording, among other things. Users also get AI Image Lab, a feature to enhance the photo quality using AI-powered tools.

Funtouch OS 15 support and availability

Funtouch OS 15 is here, but it’s in the beta version for now. It has already been rolled out in batches to the Vivo X Fold3 Pro and X100 series. Here’s the rollout timeline and all the supported devices.

Other than the two devices mentioned above, the Vivo X90 Pro and X90 will get the update in mid of November 2024.  The Vivo V40 Pro, V40, V40e, V30 Pro, V30, V30e, V29 Pro, V29, V29e, Y200 Pro 5G, and T3 Ultra will get the update in mid of December 2024.

In January 2025, the Vivo X80 Pro, X80, V27 Pro, V27, T3 Pro 5G, and T3 5G will receive the update. These devices will be followed by the Vivo Y300 5G, Y200 Plus 5G,  andT3x 5G, receiving Funtouch OS 15 in mid of February 2025. Vivo Y200e 5G, Y100, Y100A, T2 Pro 5G, and T2 5G are scheduled to get the update in March 2025.

Vivo Y200 5G  is the only device that will get the update in mid of April 2025, followed by the Vivo Y58 5G, Y56 5G, Y29 5G, Y28s 5G, T3 Lite 5G, and T2x 5G in May 2025. Lastly, the Vivo Y36 and Y28 5G will get the update in June 2025.
