Tecno Spark Go 2024 brings Apple’s Dynamic Island to Android, without asking for much

When other brands were struggling to reduce the notch and punch-hole designs, Apple made a bold move in 2022 by launching the iPhone 14 Pro that didn’t hide its big notch, but rather embraced it. With some neat software integration, the world witnessed how a seemingly useless black area on the screen could be used for some powerful multitasking.

It didn’t take long for tech enthusiasts to figure out that this could be a move that would eventually trickle down to Android phones. Behold, the Tecno Spark Go 2024, an entry-level Android smartphone that comes with its own Dynamic Island. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

Tecno Spark Go 2024: What’s new?

The Tecno Spark Go sports a 6.56-inch HD+ display with 90Hz display, complete with a centre-aligned punch-hole cutout, which can turn into an elongated pill-shaped notch on the top. Just like the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 15 series, the pill can be used to show you notifications and active apps in a much more intuitive way.

The smartphone is powered by the Unisoc T606 chipset, which is paired with up to 8GB RAM (including virtual RAM) and up to 128GB storage. The phone also features a 5,000mAh battery, and supports stereo sound via a dual-speaker design. Other features include a capacitive fingerprint sensor on the power button. The phone also comes with Android 13 Go Edition software, which is a basic version of Android that entry-level phones can easily run.
