MWC 2025: Tecno Camon 40 series with Dimensity 8350 Ultimate, AI features unveiled

On the day three of MWC, Tecno unveiled its Camon 40 series. The smartphone series comprises four models, including the Tecno Camon 40, Camon 40 Pro, Camon 40 Pro 5G, and the Camon Premier 5G. All phones are backed by a host of AI features and boot on the latest Android 15 operating system. Here’s everything you need to know.

Tecno Camon 40 series key features and availability

The Tecno Camon 40 series is powered by the Dimensity Ultimate series processors. The top-of-the-line Tecno Camon 40 Premier draws power from the Dimensity 8350 Ulimate AI chipset. Notably, this is the first smartphone to be powered by this chipset. Accompanying the chipset is 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

The Camon 40, Camon 40 Pro, and the Camon 40 Pro 5G feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with high refresh rate support. The Camon 40 Premier 5G, on the other hand, sports a 6.67-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with up to 144Hz refresh rate support.

The Camon 40 Premier 5G has a triple camera system on the back, with a 50MP Sony LYT-701 main sensor having OIS support. It is assisted by a 50MP periscope telephoto sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 50MP ultra-wide unit.

The Camon 40 series comes with several AI features, including AI Eraser 2.0, AIGC Portrait 2.0, AI Perfect Face, AI Writing, AI Translate, and others. It also has the Ella AI Assistant that can help you with navigation and image recognition. Further, Tecno’s AI suite also includes tools like AI Call Translation and Call Summary.

The Camon 40 Premier packs a 5,100mAh battery with 70W wired fast charging support. The other Camon 40 phones house a 5,200mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. Lastly, the Camon 40 series has a One-Tap FlashSnap Mode, allowing you to quickly capture memories. The series boots on Android 15-based HiOS 15 on top.
