Whether working out or relaxing, preparing for a date night or an important presentation, the right music can help set the mood right. In the pre-streaming era, most of us have spent countless hours making cassettes or burning CDs with personalised playlists.
Today, irrespective of if you use Spotify, Apple Music, or any other platform, you can make as many playlists as you want. But let’s be honest – while a personalised playlist is a labour of love, it involves way too much labour. Luckily, the new Spotify feature seems to be the perfect answer for it.
What is AI Playlist on Spotify?
As announced by Spotify, AI Playlist is a new feature that would make creating a new playlist as simple as typing a few words. Whether you want a “Bollywood playlist to make a boring day bearable” or a “playlist that makes you feel like a kid in a candy store”, AI Playlist has got you covered.
As per the company’s announcement, the prompts used can reference animals, activities, colours, fictional characters, and even emojis. However, prompts that aren’t related to music, like specific brands or current events, won’t produce any results. There are also measures in place around offensive prompts.
How can I make AI Playlist on Spotify?
Making a playlist with the new AI feature on Spotify is very easy. All you need to do is:
1. Go to Your Library in your Spotify mobile app
2. Tap on the “+” button in the top-right corner of the app.
3. Choose “AI playlist” from the menu.
4. An AI chatbot interface will open. You can either choose one of the suggested prompts or type your own and press enter.
5. Once Spotify offers some tracks, you can preview and delete them.
6. Don’t like the suggestions? You can revise and refine the playlist by giving the chatbot notes like “more upbeat”.
7. Once you are happy with the selection of songs, tap “Create” to save your new playlist in Your Library.
